“Bait and Switch”
EXT. ROME - TRAIN STATION - BILLET 16
A Genoa Express arrives. We see Stringer dressed in a sweatshirt and jeans. He melts into the crowd leaving the train, walks out the Rome train station and walks across the street to Angelo’s.
INT: ROME - ANGELO'S - AFTERNOON
Stringer walks to the counter. Rocco is buying rolls and coffee. The rolls are delivered in bag, Stringer orders a roll, the bag arrives, they switch bags, not acknowledging each other. A slight brush of elbows and Stringer leaves Angelo’s.
EXT. SOUTH AFRICA - MORNING
Stringer is walking down the main street of Cape Town, and sees a poster reading "Bad Ass Cage Fighting." Beat the champ. Win 5000 Euros. Stringer hails a cab arrives at 210 in a slum area on the outskirts of CAPE TOWN.
INT. SLUM - OLD BUILDING - EVENING
An old man points Stringer down the hall to a counter at the end of the dilapidated hallway.
OLD MAN
Do You come to fight the champ?
STRINGER
You bet mate, what time?
OLD MAN
10 tonight, you pay me 300 Euros to
fight.
STRINGER
That's a bit steep old man.
OLD MAN
You pay me 300 Euros, be here at 10
tonight.
Stringer hands the old man 300 Euros.
Stringer sees OLD WOMAN with Two other Old WOMEN getting off a street car. The Women are accosted at gunpoint by TWO YOUNG THUGS. The Women are defiant.
OLD WOMAN 1
I have no money.
THUG 1
Old lady, I want your purse.
OLD WOMAN 1
No.
The other Two Women, hold onto old Woman 1 and try to pull her away from the thugs. THUG 1 begins to frisk OLD LADY 1 and finds a cell phone in her bra. He takes it from her.
THUG 1
What else do you have Old Woman?
The three women begin to sob mumbling poverty. Stringer observes from a few feet away. THUG 1 AND 2 hear the warble of sirens. They run toward Stringer, he trips them as they run by, they fall on each other.
Stringer grabs the cell phone from Thug 1's pocket. He gives the phone back to the Old Lady 1, They see fire in Stringer’s eyes, they appeared scared, the three women stand over the thugs hitting them with their bags. Bystanders join in. The police arrive. Stringer leaves the scene.
EXT. SOUTH AFRICA - CAPETOWN - EVENING
Tonight the CAPOERIA CHAMP (Capoeira an Afro-Brazilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, music, and dance. The CHAMP will fight 5 OPPONENTS separately Stringer will be the last. A large crowd gathers around the fight floor, jostling and pushing to get a better view of the action. Small fights erupt in the middle of the crowded room. Stringer is ready.
The CHAMP defeats the each of the FOUR CHALLENGERS.
Stringer is next. The Champ appears fresh and confident, high fives spectators, parades for Stringer performing acrobatic cartwheels, feints, sweeps, kicks, and body throws. The Champ circles the shirtless Stringer. The Champ back flips then kips into Stringer. Stringer throws one punch to the CHAMP'S throat, the Champ is down, and slumps over in the middle of the ring. The crowd goes crazy, Stringer collects his winnings, and leaves.
EXT. CAPE TOWN - AIRPORT - MORNING
Stringer boards an unmarked MOSSAD private jet bound for NEWARK AIRPORT. The jet lands at back shipping area of NEWARK AIRPORT.
EXT. NEWARK AIRPORT - AFTERNOON
Stringer, outside the AIRPORT hails a cab. Stringer’s dropped off in a busy area of MANHATTAN. Stringer is walks to an old retired British Commando's apartment in downtown MANHATTAN.
EXT. NEW YORK - MANHATTAN - MORNING
Morris and Rocco are sitting inside Colonel Hackman’s office.
COLONEL HACKMAN
Stringer’s in New York.
Morris and Rocco are shocked.
MORRIS
Where can we find him?
COLONEL HACKMAN
(Hands them a note with the address.)
Don't know, better get to him
before the Secret Service.

is combing each building on the
President’s route from the airport.

EXT. MANHATTAN - PRESIDENTS ROUTE - AFTERNOON
SECRET SERVICE AGENTS comb the Presidents route. SECRET SERVICE sets up SNIPER POSTS on rooftops. Stringer and his FRIENDS are having lunch in their apartment on the President’s route to the UNITED NATIONS.
INT. MANHATTAN - APARTMENT - NOON - MORNING
Stringer is sits at a table with his old commando friend RUPERT STEWART, from his QUEENS SPECIAL FORCES days in the BRITISH MILITARY.
RUPERT
You’re making headlines all over
UK. Scotland Yard is
one step behind you.
STRINGER
They're making it tough on Sandi,

Two Secret Service Agents, enter his building, a buzzer alerts Rupert someone is on the ground level.
RUPERT’S GIRLFRIEND
Looks at the TV monitor from the downstairs foyer.
I'm afraid we have visitors.
Stringer walks over to the monitor and recognizes the problem.
STRINGER
See you mates! Thanks for your
hospitality.
Stringer leaves through the back door onto roof.
Satellite’s are now hovering over the Presidents route. Somewhere in a command room at CIA Headquarters in Langley, computer analysts see commotion on the President’s route.
Phone calls are made to bolster protection for the President.
NYPD SWAT, Federal FBI Agents, rush to help the Secret Service.
EXT. NEW YORK - THIRD FLOOR ROOFTOP -- AFTERNOON
He's now moving quickly. Stringer races across rooftops. Occasionally stopping for a peek to check if he's evaded the Secret Service. He sees his two friends in handcuffs escorted to a secret service car.
STRINGER (CONT’D)
Shit!
He keeps a fast pace from rooftop to rooftop. Stringer finds a building that is being refurbished, climbs down a ladder two the third floor. The Secret Service is checking every door and fire escape. Stringer is jumping rooftops, he finds a building under construction, runs down two flights, quietly walks out of the front door. Breaks into an SUV, hot wires, bumps forward and backward, sets off car alarms.
EXT. MANHATTAN - CAR CHASE - AFTERNOON
An agent spots Stringer radios for help. Stringer’s in a traffic jam. He cuts sharply and drives up on the sidewalk. Avoiding people as he hits trash cans, maneuvers back onto the street, making a right turn at the nearest intersection. Another Secret Service Agent spots Stringer speeding the wrong way down a one way street.
The Agent pursues. He’s behind Stringer. Calls in his location. The agent accelerates and nudges Stringer’s back fender. Stringer sideswipes several cars. He breaks, the Agent tries to react, too late. The Agent hits a parked car. Stringer speeds away. The Agent radios for help. An other Secret Service car races the wrong way on the street, gets trapped by the onrushing traffic. Stringer jumps out of the SUV. Walks unnoticed to the corner. His luck's changed.
EXT. NEW YORK - FUNERAL PROCESSION - AFTERNOON
RENT-A-COPS have stopped traffic for a funeral procession.
The PASSENGERS in the front Limo can be seen weeping, while six limos follow behind in procession. The first limo passes the intersection, Stringer slaps at the front passenger window, signals the driver to let him in, the door unlocks.
EXT: INSIDE THE LIMO - AFTERNOON
The two police escorts move quickly past the funeral procession to block the next intersection.
INT: NEW YORK - FUNERAL INSIDE THE LIMO - AFTERNOON
Stringer, a priest, and two well dressed men in their 70's are sitting in the back seat. Drying their eyes, what is Stringer doing in the car.
STRINGER (CONT’D)
Sorry about being late, my condolences to the family.
JOSEPHINE LIMO PASSENGER

He was a good man. They called him “Cherry Nose” they tried to make fun of Vito. He helped everybody. Vito took care of his own, it was too bad his bodyguards could not stop the execution.
